You've found my little place on the web for all things Gay Pride. If you should be curious about why Pride seems to be my pet project, check out the About Me link to the left. I hope you'll spend some time here and see all there is to see.
But first I want to point out what you're looking at in the slideshow on the right. All of the images began as photographs. I was knocked out by the digital revolution in photography that began with the 21st Century - all that incredible clarity, and instant processing. Wow!
But over time I've begun re-evaluating the possibilities from a painter's perspective. There's something timeless in the simplicity of paint; it makes your imagination work harder. And it's more...involving. Both classic and classy.
Some images are purely photographic (those are easy to pick out, I think), while others are completely painterly. Some are there in both versions - but the computer serves them all up in random order, to keep you guessing about what you'll see next.
You might also notice that a few contain subtle elements of both, leading up to something new I'm expermenting with now: artistic hybrids in which both media - photo/reality and paint/emotionality - are present and purposely obvious. You'll get a chance to see more of that on the Intimate Gay Male Art page, if you're still interested, not offended by male/male sexuality...and, of course, not a minor.
In the meantime, enjoy! |
